Lisa Janbell

Lisa Janbell är en självproducerande dansare och koreograf, utbildad i Bailes Folkloricos på danshögskolan i Havanna, Kuba, El Instituto Superior de Arte. Hon är konstnärlig ledare för SOMOS Dance Company och verksam i performance duon Dos Oké. 

Lisa har sedan 2010 gjort egenproducerade verk och turnéer samt uppdrag för bl.a Scenkonst Sörmland, Riksteatern och Teatro Mella i Havanna. Hennes verk har spelat på skolor, scenkonst-scener, nattklubbar och elektroniska festivaler runtom i Sverige, i Berlin, Barcelona och Havanna. 

”I have been a night club lover my entire life and at the same time passionately interested in the origin of the Cuban Folklor dance practice, the ceremonies and the rituals. Experiencing the connection in dance between trance in electronic music clubs and trance in ceremonies and rituals in Cuba, I believe that there is a human need for trance states of mind, a need for being in contact with your inner self, the spirit of your being. Created in a room of community.”
